Us President Joe Biden’s statement about Ukraine has made a big noise. Biden’s claim came first from the Zelenski front. Speaking to the country’s press, Ukrainian Presidency spokesman Sergei Nikiforov stressed that Biden should clarify his ‘did not want to hear’ statement. According to Business Insider, Nikiforov said the two leaders spoke openly about the threat posed by Russia and made multiple phone calls before the occupation.
Nikiforov said Zelenski demanded preventative sanctions before the invasion began and said ‘our partners didn’t want to hear us’. Another Ukrainian official, Mykhailo Podoliak, Zelenskyi’s adviser, said Biden’s words were ‘not quite true’. He added that before the war, Ukraine was preparing a series of ‘aggressive’ scenarios against Russia.
